Compliance at Arla

Compliance at Arla

For us, it goes without saying that profitability and responsible business practices go hand in hand. This requires binding rules, cooperation and integrity.

Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct incorporates Arla's principles for ethical and sustainable growth. If you would like to learn more about how we conduct our business, you can read about it in our Code of Conduct, which can be found in several languages.

Supplier Code of Conduct

We only do business and enter into contracts with business partners who comply with the laws in the countries in which they operate and who respect and support internationally recognized human rights. We also expect all our business partners to commit to their social and environmental responsibility and to comply with our Code of Conduct for Suppliers and Business Partners.

Declaration of Principles on Human Rights (LKSG)

We are committed to respecting human rights and protecting the environment. We face up to our responsibility for people, animals and the environment, because we are aware that operating as a manufacturing company and thus participating in global supply and value chains can potentially have adverse effects on protected legal interests. With this policy statement, we present our strategy for compliance with legal interests to be protected in order to strengthen the guarantee of human rights and environmental obligations in the company and in the upstream supply chains and to prevent violations.

At Arla Foods, we respect human and environmental rights in our operations and throughout our supply chain, in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles and the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. In order to live up to our responsibility towards those affected, Arla Foods provides a complaints procedure in order to immediately investigate suspected, imminent or already occurring violations of the human rights and environmental obligations of § 2 (2) Nos. 1-12 and (3) Nos. 1-8 LkSG and to at least minimise their negative effects, unless otherwise prescribed by law.

The complaints procedure is open to all internal and external whistleblowers who intend to draw attention to human rights and environmental risks as well as violations of human rights-related or environmental obligations that may have arisen as a result of Arla Foods' economic activities in its own business area or a supplier.

Submissions can be made in particular via the whistleblower system described below.

Alternatively, we offer the following channels for the submission of information and submissions according to the LksG:

By e-mail to: Supplychainact@arlafoods.com

By post to the following address: Arla Foods Deutschland GmbH, Legal&Compliance, Wahlerstr. 2, 40472 Düsseldorf, Germany.

Regardless of which channel is used for the input, Arla Foods will process each input immediately. Each whistleblower receives an acknowledgement of receipt. Every report will be handled confidentially by the independent ethics committee ELC at Arla Foods. As part of the review of the tip, the ELC will approach the whistleblower to discuss the facts underlying the tip.

Whistleblower System

Compliance with laws and internal regulations is a high priority for Arla. Misconduct must therefore be detected at an early stage.

In our whistleblowing system, you can quickly and easily report concerns about misconduct that affects our company or the well-being of employees and third parties.

Whistleblowers who point out possible violations on the basis of concrete indications are protected by the company.

The confidentiality of the information is guaranteed. The procedure for submitting information is regulated in the Complaints Directive of Arla Foods.
